KICK-STARTING THE ECOSYSTEM
It is a tall order for the ecosystem leader to build an ecosystem all by yourself. One way to sidestep that challenge is to find partners that bring their own eco-subsystems along and so help speed up the growth of your ecosystem.
When Rolls Royce needed an ecosystem in Singapore to build up a pipeline of skilled workers it was greatly helped by the Economic Development Board, which brought its network of government agencies and educational institutions along.
For Rolls Royce, it would have been too challenging to negotiate with all the different agencies and the technical schools and universities. That is where the EDB ecosystem helped to speed up the development of the ecosystem.
